Why meditate?
In everyday life the attention of most people tends to be focused outward. Much time is spent ‘doing’ and very little, or no time at all is spent ‘being’. In modern day life the mind is so full of all the things we must ‘do’ or of all of the things we must be to others that it can often become overloaded. This ‘overload’ can lead to physical illness and mental and emotional despair.
When we meditate, we turn the mind inward. As we dive deep into the core of our being we begin to experience the innermost part of ourselves. We access the contentment, serenity and peace which is our true nature. As we reach deeper levels within, our understanding of our true nature increases and fears and insecurities slowly disappear. We find a sense of freedom that allows us to act rather than react, to love rather than cling and to understand rather than reject. Instead of being controlled by life’s circumstances we begin to become the Master of our own life. Our first responsibility is to our Selves. The first and true purpose of our Soul is to be in joy, to find centredness and peace. In essence, all we are here to do is be happy!
Cultivating Non-Attachment
It is helpful on the human journey back to remembering the Soul, to learn and use effective and simple methods of meditation and spiritual practices that have great roots and have been tried and tested over thousands of years. Ancient eastern practices work by ‘being’ and not ‘doing’. When we enter the Silence, go beyond the mind and experience the stillness within we learn to become non-attached to our thoughts. We reflect this non-attachment in our everyday lives and begin to observe ourselves, others and life itself without becoming involved in negativity and confusion. We access the place deep within that contains peace, joy, knowledge and unconditional Love. We begin to spiritually unfold.
Going Beyond Thoughts
This state of non-attachment begins to lead us to the place of remembering our true origins. We cannot ever experience who we truly are by going around in circles following our thoughts. The mind is the most cunning instrument and we have allowed it to tell us who we are for far too long. The confused mass of thoughts that many people experience is attached to conditioned patterning from the past, much of it negative. The past is gone but the impressions of our experiences live on in the sub-conscious, blocking the way forward. These impressions must be released if we are to return to the state of grace and wholeness that is our true nature. Using simple, ancient practices that take us beyond these impressions allows them to be released safely and with ease. Meditation takes us beyond who the limited mind tells us we are, to find the beautiful and empowered Soul we really are. We learn to let go of the past to live in the 'Now'. We begin to experience Joy!
Your Soul Contract
We are all present at this time on our beautiful Mother Earth because we agreed to be here to remember who we are. We stepped forward in Love for humanity to assist the Earth and its inhabitants through the cleansing process that is now fully underway for the Earth and all her people. When we begin to remember our essence and delight in the knowingness and joy of that remembrance, we clear the way for our true purpose to be fulfilled. It is in the fulfilment and joy of that purpose that we know we have remembered why we came. You are beautiful. You are special. You are Perfect.
